The surface of the playground has been replaced with play grade hardwood chips which comply with BS EN 1177 industry standard.
We have been advised by our supplier that it is a natural material and that it is impossible to eliminate all risk of splinters. The surface is designed for use underfoot.
Therefore, we ask you to discourage your children from handling it.
We are currently monitoring this so that we can give feedback to the supplier. We would encourage anyone who experiences splinters to report them to The Parish Council at clerk@eastleachparishcouncil.org.
